Dayaknese and Islam: A Confluence from Borneo's Hinterland, Indonesia

Sufism has generally been regarded as the confluence that helps to facilitate Islamization in Indonesia by opening accommodating spaces for local beliefs and practices. This article examines manuscripts historical records show concrete examples of how Sufi interpretations culture are constructed. is not only based on philological studies Abang Ahmad Tahir Manuscript Collections (MSS AAT) but also observations interviews from field between 2012 2019. argues MSS AAT provided appropriate Dayakness Islam. Not presented dynamic engagement critically selected traditions cosmology specific elements textual discourses, it noted ways which such texts further indicate both Islamisation communities they vernacularise Islam Kapuas Hulu, situated hinterland West Kalimantan.
